As Host of CaribNation television, I recently had an opportunity to have a conversation with Jamaican-American Attorney Dahlia Walker-Huntington, a Jamaican and Caribbean community leader, and an advocate on a number of issues affecting the Caribbean diaspora. In particular, we discussed reasons why members of the US-based Caribbean diaspora should support the Democratic ticket of former Vice President Joe Biden for president of the United States and his vice presidential running mate Sen. Kamala Harris. Atty. Walker-Huntington shared with CaribNation television reasons why she is confident Sen. Harris will be a great vice president in a Biden administration. She described the many attributes Sen. Harris will bring to the office of Vice President that will serve the country well. Most importantly, as an astute political advocate, Atty. Walker-Huntington also recommended ways members of the Caribbean diaspora can effectively engage in the election for president of the United States.

We also discussed Attorney Walker-Huntington’s many years of lobbying of the US Congress in her advocacy for immigration reform, and the prospects for success during a Biden-Harris administration.
